An Operating System For Going Fast – Ian Warby of Firecrest MTB

February 25, 2020

This week I’m joined by someone who has put a huge amount into the sport, opening one of the first UK bike parks, supporting the creation of many others, and offering a forward thinking coaching service for over 20 years. Ian Warby of Firecrest MTB has been a super fan of the sport for a long time, and was racing at a high level before downhill even became a thing. Over the years he has raced at World Cup level, built a bike park, created an ever developing coaching system, and generally just poured his heart and soul into the sport that we all love. We chat about his background, what it took to get the bike park off the ground, and get into some of the detail behind his coaching system, which was inspired by Bruce Lee! The way that Ian looks at coaching like a computer operating system is really interesting, and I definitely learned some things to take away and try in order to improve my own riding. I hope that you get something out of it too… hit play above and give it a listen.
